Hey there, pineapple people. If you are heading to CouplesXcape 2026 in Fort Lauderdale, let’s talk about what this weekend actually looks like—and what it does not require from you.
Splash takeovers have a rhythm of their own. The hotel starts out feeling like any other South Florida property, and then the last vanilla guests leave, the wristbands come out, and the whole place changes. The pool gets louder. The outfits get bolder. People who only knew each other by screen name start hugging in the lobby.
Dan and Lacy will not be at this one, but they have been to Splash events in Fort Lauderdale, Houston, and Atlanta. Here is the practical version of what they would tell a friend before the trip.
What is CouplesXcape 2026?
CouplesXcape is Splash Takeovers’ adults-only Fort Lauderdale hotel takeover, running September 10–13, 2026. The hotel name is released after booking, which is normal for a private lifestyle takeover. What you can expect is an atrium-style property near Fort Lauderdale airport, with the pool, patio, ballroom, restaurants, vendors, workshops, and play spaces all inside the event footprint.
That setup matters. You are not driving from a daytime pool party to a separate nightclub and then hunting for an after-party somewhere else. The weekend moves around one private hotel, so it is easy to find your people, take a break in your room, change clothes, and come back when you are ready.
What do you wear during the day?
Pool days are clothing-optional. That means exactly what it says: you may wear as much or as little as feels right for you.
Some guests will be nude. Some will be in swimsuits, wraps, shorts, or a T-shirt. Some people will change their mind from one hour to the next. Clothing-optional is permission, not pressure, and it is never a requirement to get naked. All bodies belong at the pool, and nobody earns extra points for showing more skin.
Pack for South Florida heat, but bring something easy to throw on when you want food, air-conditioning, or a little more coverage. Sunscreen, sandals, and a refillable water bottle are more important than trying to build the perfect pool look.
The daytime energy is social: DJs, water games, giveaways, cabanas, vendors, and people circulating between the pool and patio. You can get in the middle of every game or sit back and watch. Splash works best when you let yourself participate at your own pace.
What should you wear at night?
Theme-night details can change, so use the official event schedule as your final packing list. The simplest way to think about evening dress is cocktail or rave wear.
Cocktail can mean a dress, a button-down, fitted pants, or whatever makes you feel polished and confident. Rave wear can be bright, sheer, sparkly, strappy, playful, or barely there. You do not have to buy an elaborate costume for every night. Dan and Lacy have reused pieces, built a look around one good shirt, and chosen comfortable shoes when the dance floor mattered more than the photo.
Bring options. A bold look is fun until you are cold, uncomfortable, or ready to sit down. Pack a layer, shoes you can actually dance in, and at least one outfit that feels like you instead of a character you think the room expects.
What happens after the pool?
At night, the energy shifts into themed dance parties, bars, Studio 69, fantasy and dungeon rooms, and designated play spaces. There are also seminars, workshops, dining areas, and places to catch your breath.
That mix is important because a takeover is not one long sexual audition. You can spend the weekend dancing, meeting people, shopping with vendors, attending workshops, and going back to your room with your own partner. You can visit a play space and decide you only want to watch. You can flirt with someone on Friday and decide Saturday that the chemistry is not there.
Nothing about buying a ticket changes the rules of consent. A yes can become a no. A maybe is not a yes. Clothing is not consent, nudity is not consent, and being inside a playroom is not consent.
Do you have to play?
No. You do not have to play with anyone.
This is where first-timers sometimes put unnecessary pressure on themselves. They decide the weekend only counts if they have a story to bring home. Then they stop paying attention to whether they are actually having fun.
Talk with your partner before the trip about boundaries, check-ins, safer-sex expectations, alcohol, and what either of you will do if one person needs a reset. Then keep talking during the weekend. The strongest couples are not the ones who say yes to everything. They are the ones who can change the plan without punishing each other.
How do tickets and the hotel work?
There are no tickets at the door, so book in advance. Payment plans may be available, and hotel details are provided after purchase. The event also has a drug-free policy with zero tolerance, including marijuana.
Because everything happens inside a private takeover, read the official rules before you pack and check the event schedule again before you travel. That is where you will find the latest theme-night details, arrival instructions, and hotel information.
